An Ounce of Prevention: Tulane University Embraces Relationship between Diet and Health
The relationship between the food we eat and our
health has been well-established. And increasingly, medical schools are
embracing that relationship, and training doctors to help patients eat
healthier meals.
The Tulane School of Medicine is a leader in this
field. The school has developed a curriculum, which is being used by other
medical schools around the country, which helps doctors talk to their patients
about making practical, real-world food choices. The program even includes a
hands-on kitchen, where physicians learn how to prepare healthy meals
themselves.
