LegWorks Takes First Place in Accessibility Tech Pitch Competition


Recently, we told you about LegWorks, a Canadian public-private partnership that produces a durable, affordable prosthetic leg for amputees in developing nations. The initiative obtained $1 million in private funding, which was matched by the Canadian government.

The good news continues for LegWorks. This month, LegWorks took first place in Ontario Centres of Excellence’s (OCE’s) Parapan Am Games-affiliated Accessibility Tech Pitch competition. The company announced it would the $20,000 award to fit 200 amputees in developing countries with its prosthetic device.
